With more than 27 years of combined experience in the nonprofit sector, Suite Managing Partners - Tara Adams and Tiffany Hilson have a shared love for helping people and Suite 2012 helps organizations that help others. We are passionate about contributing to diverse charitable organizations, seeing how our work creates change, generates access and impacts lives! With a belief that “to achieve different results you must test different approaches”, Suite 2012 employs various methods to ensure nonprofits achieve goals and exceed their potential. Here’s a snippet of what drives us:
TIFFANY HILSON can be described as a non-profit generalist, serving seventeen years in various program and fund development capacities. As an adolescent, Tiffany had a passion for helping others. Working with causes such as arts and culture, homelessness, substance abuse, domestic violence and education programs for the underserved, Tiffany has gained a broad perspective of nonprofits and draws upon this experience to assist organizations in maximizing their full potential and achieve sustainability. Her accomplishments include building diversified funding portfolios for major organizations and planning profitable events. Tiffany holds a Masters of Public Administration from Central Michigan University and Bachelors in Criminal Justice from Clark Atlanta University. In her spare time she enjoys reading, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
TIFFANY SAYS:
I love the spontaneity of the journey. Not knowing what each day will bring from new experiences to knowledge acquired. I also appreciate the opportunity to be connected to varying social well-being causes – Human Services, Arts and Culture, Education, Social Justice. Taking raw ideas and morphing them into fundable programs or events that produce revenue, but most importantly creates impact and access for underserved individuals #excites me!
TARA ADAMS spent the formative years of her professional career as the right hand to senior executives in the corporate and nonprofit business sectors. Tara combines her diverse and shrewd business acumen with her love for educating others, which has led to consulting startup companies, 501C3 nonprofit and trade organizations. Developing, safeguarding the sustainability, and ensuring they exceeded their full potential earned her the nickname “The Small Business Doctor”. A native of Michigan and graduate of Wayne State University, her passion to help others have led her throughout the country, planting seeds and growing ideas into realized dreams in Illinois, Florida, North Carolina, and Colorado. Tara loves to bake, sew, travel and shop for unique accessories.
TARA SAYS:
I love a feel good story and am honored to positively contribute to Detroit’s renaissance. The balancing act of wearing multiple hats, interacting with passionate personality types and influencing worthwhile causes is challenging— and who doesn’t love a challenge? These past 8 years, what drives me has changed. Today I use the quote from former First Lady Michelle Obama, “The one way to get me to work my hardest is to doubt me.”
